Hyundai Tucson: Interior / Crash Pad Repair procedures

Replacement
Cluster Replacement
   
When prying with a flat-up screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the cluster fascia panel (A).

2.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the cluster fascia lower panel (A).

3.
After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the cluster (A).

4.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

5.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
   
Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
Replace any damage clips.
Lower Panel Replacement
1.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad side cover (A).

2.
After loosening the crash pad lower panel mounting screws, then remove the crash pad lower panel (A).
3.
Disconnect the diagnosis connector (B).

4.
After loosening the mounting bolts, then remove the reinforce panel (A).

5.
Install in the reverse order the removal.
Audio Assembly Replacement
   
When prying with a flat-up screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1.
Remove the center fascia panel (A).

2.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the hazard lamp switch assmbly (A).

3.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

4.
After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the audio assembly (A).

5.
Disconnect the connectors.

6.
Install in the reverse order the removal.
   
Make sure the connectors are pluggen in properly.
Glove Box Replacement
1.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad side cover (A).

2.
Disconnect the guide (B), from the glove box (A).

3.
Disconnect the lift (A), from the glove box (B).

4.
Disconnect the pin (A) and then remove the glove box (B).

5.
After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the crash pad passenger's panel (A).

6.
After loosening the mounting screws and bolts, then remove the glove box housing (A).

7.
Disconnect the glove box lamp connector (A) and glove box lamp switch connector (B).

8.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Heater control unit Replacement
   
When prying with a flat-up screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the floor console tray (A).

2.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console bezel (A).

3.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

4.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad center panel (A).

5.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the hazard lamp switch assembly (A).

6.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

7.
After loosering the mounting screws, then remove the heater control unit (A).

8.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

9.
Install in the reverse order the removal.
   
Make sure the connectors are pluggen in properly.
Shroud Replacement
1.
After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the shroud assembly (A).

2.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Crash pad driver's panel Replacement (LH)
1.
Remove the crash pad side cover.
2.
After loosering the mounting screws, then remove the lower panel (A).
3.
Disconnect the diahnosis connector (B).

4.
Remove the cluster fascia panel (A).

5.
Using a screwdriver, remover the crash pad switch assembly (A).
6.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

7.
After loosering the mounting screws, then remove the crash pad driver's panel (A).

8.
Disconnect the connectors (B).

9.
Install in the reverse order the removal.
Crash Pad Side Cover Replacement
   
When prying with a flat-up screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1.
Using a screwdriver, remove the crash pad side cover (A).
[Driver's]

[Passenger's]

2.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Main Crash Pad Replacement
   
When prying with a flat-up screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1.
Remove the following items.
A.
Front seat.
(Refer to Seat & Power Seat - "Front Seat")
B.
Floor console
(Refer to Interior - "Console")
C.
Cluster.
D.
Crash pad lower panel & Reinforce panel.
E.
Audio assembly.
F.
Heater control unit.
G.
Crash pad side air vent.
H.
Glove box & Glove box housing.
I.
Crash pad side cover.
J.
Front pillar trim.
(Refer to Interior - "Interior Trim")
K.
Steering column
(Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and shaft")
2.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the center air vent (A).

3.
Disconnect the connector (A).

4.
Disconnect the lock pin, disconnect the passenger's air bag connector (A).
5.
Loosen the mounting bolts.

6.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the photo senor (A).
7.
Disconnect the photo senor connector (B).

8.
After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, then remove the crash pad assembly (A).

9.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
   
Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
Enter the anti- theft code for the radio, then enter the customer`s radio station presets.
Cowl Cross Bar Assembly Replacement
   
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
   
When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from marring the surface.
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
1.
Remove the following items.
A.
Front seat
B.
Floor console
C.
Main crash pad assembly
D.
Cowl top cover
2.
Disconnect the steering column connectors.
(Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and Shaft")
3.
Down the steering column after loosening the mounting bolts.
(Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and Shaft")
4.
Disconnect the blower unit connectors (A).

5.
Disconnect the passenger compartment junction box connectors.

6.
Disconnect the airbag (A) and antenna (B) connectors.

7.
Push the lock pin, disconnect the driver`s wiring connectors.
8.
Using a screwdriver, remove the wiring cover (A).

9.
Push the lock pin, disconnect the passenger's wiring connectors.
10.
Using a screwdriver, remove the wiring cover (A).

11.
Disconnect the connector mounting clip (A).

[Passenger's]

12.
Remove the cowl top cover.
(Refer to Exterior - "Cowl Top Cover")
13.
Loosen the mounting bolts.

14.
After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, then remove the cowl cross bar (A).

15.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
   
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
